The three rings girdling Freeman Lau’s caddy display calligraphy selected from the Museum’s priceless collection of calligraphic works which, when swivelled into alignment, reveal names of the four Chinese tea varieties cast into its lid; Tie Guanyin, Wulong, Longjing and Dongfang Meiren.
Freeman Lau, a founding partner of Hong Kong’s Kan and Lau Design Consultants, is a graphic designer and fine artist, a frequent speaker at international design forums, and the recipient of the HKSAR government’s Bronze Bauhinia Star in recognition of his contributions in enhancing the identity of Hong Kong design.
