The seemingly random scattering of delicate calligraphy coalesces into perfect sense when the individual rings encircling Freeman Lau’s chic teapot are rotated. The characters, gleaned from the Museum’s collection of exquisite calligraphic scrolls, align to display the names of four of China’s many famed tea varieties; Longjing, Wulong, Tie Guanyin and Wenshan Baozhong.
In fine china and satin finish pewter, with a bamboo finial and handle.
Freeman Lau, a founding partner of Hong Kong’s Kan and Lau Design Consultants, is a graphic designer and fine artist, a frequent speaker at international design forums, and the recipient of the HKSAR government’s Bronze Bauhinia Star in recognition of his contributions in enhancing the identity of Hong Kong design.
