One of the longest serving artisans at Royal Selangor, Suet Mui has been with the company for 53 years. She learnt the art of hand engraving from Yong Peng Kai, the third son of Yong Koon. Today, Suet Mui is a skilled hand engraver in her own right. Her expertise is so rare today and very much appreciated. She is so good at what she does that she was specially flown to Shanghai in 2009 to hand-engrave the names of the ATP Masters 1000 winners on the spot.

“Royal Selangor frequently sends me overseas for hand engraving demonstrations. I love to showcase this skill, as it is a dying art. And many people appreciate this art. What I love the most about Royal Selangor is it has a family feeling. I enjoy working with the Yong family. They treat me so well and always take care of their employees’ welfare.”
