Interpreting a scene from Tolkien’s The Hobbit, Bilbo, appealing to Smaug’s vanity, convinces him to show off his diamond-encrusted underside, thereby unwittingly revealing a chink in the fire-drake’s formidable armour of gems. Red Swarovski crystals set Smaug’s eyes ablaze, whilst blue faceted crystals twinkle amongst the hoard of treasure at both our characters’ feet. In pewter on a bonded porcelain base.
