Nine koi swim peacefully amongst the lotus, sunlight reflecting off the water, glinting on their scales gilded with 24K gold. A decorative wall plaque of a contemplative nature, its subject matter celebrates the appreciation Chinese society holds for symbolism and wordplay.

The word for nine in Chinese is a homonym for everlasting, and fish, for abundance, whilst the lotus is visual shorthand for purity and plenty.
