Designs by Erik Magnussen (1940-2014) are in the collection of design museums around the world, a testament to the quality of his work and the high regard with which the international design community holds him. He has designed for some of the greatest names in the industry, including Bing & Grøndahl, Fritz Hansen, Paustian and Royal Copenhagen. His jug for Stelton, designed in 1977, remains a constant in the stable of cult objects requisite in any contemporary interior.
The Copenhagen native is the recipient of numerous awards, amongst them Denmark’s Lunning and Furniture Prizes, multiple ID-prizes by the Danish Society of Industrial Design, Germany’s red dot award, and the Good Design Gold Prize awarded by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization.
His initial collection for Royal Selangor in 1992 marks some of his earliest forays into pewter.
